How we met
In 2016, Jeff and Meredith supposedly met at the Hunt, a horserace in NJ, where they shared a one hour conversation atop hay barrels. After that hour concluded Jeff handed Meredith a single sunflower and they parted ways.
Remember the sunflower part it’s important to the story later on.
Fast forward to 2021, when Meredith and Kelsey descended upon Asbury Park for the Fourth of July. Kelsey invited her long time friend, Jeff Furbish, to dinner at the Liggett’s. Meredith vaguely remembered him as the “guy that gave me a sunflower.” but after that evening he became so much more.
From then on you’d find Jeff driving 5+ hours on a Friday to visit Meredith in Boston, MA for the weekend. They continued their back and forth commutes till 2022 and a trip to Lisbon convinced them to move in together. If you ask Jeff he asked Meredith but if you ask Meredith she’ll assert she asked Jeff, regardless they both decided to squish their lives together..
In 2022, they combined habits, lives, board games and plants in Jersey City, NJ
The Proposal
While Kelsey ran recon with a Girl’s Spa Day in Brooklyn, Jeff was supposidly conducting an all day DND. Instead, Meredith came home to over 80 sunflowers, Niel Young on the record player, a really important question, and a fancy steak house reservation.

Instead of a steakhouse, Meredith and Jeff decided to celebrate their engagement with Fried Chicken, How I Met Your Mother re-runs, and delighted calls to family and friends.
